Complaints About The Iphone Price Drop

The iPhone was an innovative gadget that set the techies tongues and fingers atwitter when word came out that it was going to be sold in June 2007. The initial iphone price was $599 for the 8 gigabyte version. The 4 gigabyte version of the iPhone came at a lower price. In spite of this really steep price for a cellular phone combined with several other features, many still stood in line waiting for the stores to open.

These early buyers were so eager to get their hands on an iPhone that many stood outside the stores that will sell the phones the day before the iPhone's launch. To think that one is so willing to buy a newly launched product which offers similar features as other cheaper phones is phenomenal. The iPhone price has not deterred buyers from being the first people to have the very in demand iPhone.

The Iphone Price Drop

Just last September 2007, Apple announced its plans to drop the iphone price by $200 just in time for the holiday season. The reason for the iphone price drop given by Apple is that they want to gve everybody a chance to be able to buy an iPhone. That means the 8 gigabyte iPhone you bought for $599 is now available for just $399. The 4 gigabyte version will still be sold until supplies last but none will be made after. This iphone price drop has irritated early buyers because they believe that a price drop this much is not rational especially after less than three months of launching the product.

Early iPhone adopters or buyers are complaining that the iphone price drop is not justifiable since the products to be sold are still the same products and the new ones coming out are highly similar to the old ones being currently sold. The reactions of the people who bought the iPhone early are actually understandable. The feeling of being cheated is prominent and most of the people who are affected by the iphone price drop are demanding retribution. Many have sent complaints, demands and emails to the people at Apple in hopes that they be heard.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has issued a statement regarding the iphone price drop in the Apple site. He is giving a $100 Apple Retail Store or Apple Online Store credit to those who have purchased an iPhone from AT&T and Apple. Recently, this 2008, rumors are rife that Apple might yet again issue another iPhone price drop. These are just rumors and have yet to be confirmed by Apple.
